Terms & Conditions

The terms on which Parsons Construction & Landscaping provides quotations and carries out work.

1. About these terms

These terms and conditions apply to all quotations issued by, and all work carried out by, Parsons Construction & Landscaping ("we", "us", "our") for our customers ("you"). By accepting a quotation you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

2. Quotations

Quotations are free of charge and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Quotations are based on the information available at the time of the site visit and on the specification agreed with you. Work not described in the quotation, or changes you request after acceptance, will be quoted for separately and agreed in writing before it is carried out.

3. Unforeseen conditions

Where ground conditions, hidden structural defects, asbestos, drainage problems or other matters that could not reasonably have been identified at the time of quoting are discovered during the work, we will stop, discuss the options with you and agree any additional cost before proceeding.

4. Payment

For larger projects a deposit is normally required before work starts, with further stage payments as agreed in the quotation. Invoices are payable within 7 days of the date of issue unless otherwise agreed. Materials remain our property until paid for in full.

5. Planning, building regulations and design

Unless expressly included in the quotation, obtaining planning permission, building regulations approval, party wall agreements and structural engineering design remains your responsibility. We are happy to work alongside your architect and engineer and can recommend professionals where required.

6. Site access and services

You agree to provide reasonable access to the site during working hours and access to water and electricity where needed. Please tell us about any known services (gas, electricity, water, drainage) or hazards on the site before work begins.

7. Programme

Any start and completion dates given are estimates made in good faith. We will keep you informed of progress, but we cannot be held responsible for delays caused by weather, supply of materials, third parties or changes to the scope of work.

8. Materials and workmanship

All work is carried out to a good and workmanlike standard using suitable materials. Natural materials such as stone, timber and turf vary in colour and texture, and settlement of newly laid lawns, plants and ground is normal. Manufacturer warranties on products such as windows, doors and roof lights are passed on to you.

9. Cancellation

If you accept a quotation at your home or away from our premises you may have the right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you ask us to begin work within that period and later cancel, you agree to pay for work done and materials ordered up to the point of cancellation.

10. Insurance and liability

We hold public liability insurance for the work we undertake. We are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for damage caused by pre-existing defects or by other contractors.

11. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our work please tell us as soon as possible so that we can put it right. Contact details are on our contact page.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
